WELCOME TO A HOUSEGUEST - SPECIAL TIP

You are all pretty smart, and probably know this anyway.. You know the feeling, when your spare room looks like a tip that has been hit by a cyclone, plus a pack of marauding dogs, and you are expecting a house guest in 1 hour?

Quickly, shove all the clothes, shoes etc into the cupboard, fold down the ironing board and drying rack.

Then:

1: make the bed and put on a nice cover

2: Flowers (this is very important). There is something about a nice tiny bunch of flowers, stuck into a pretty receptacle, that instantly makes the room feel welcoming..

so easy and so effective!

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR OWN FRESH FOOD SUPPLY!

“Food gardening is the most intellignet adult endeavour on earth”, says Lolo Hobein, in her book called One Magic Square.(see link below). The whole premise of the book, is, even if you have never grown a radish, the best and cheapest food  is the food you grow in your own earth, on a single metre. Even though you may well be busy, a metre is a sinch to tend. ANYONE can do it. go for it!

Anyway, here is my magic metre. I love gardening. Not just for the tasty food, but also for the sensory delight i get from observing the constantly changing patterns of texture and colour. I believe, that if EVERYONE had a small patch, there would seriously be a lot less mental illness in the world. It keeps you balanced! have a good day!

A PRAYER FOR LONDON

So today, my small way of trying to help redress the pain and anger happening in london , is to go and look at my hyacinth bulbs that I planted back in April, which smell amazing, and enjoy their jewel like colours shining out into a very gloomy winter indeed, and post them here to hopefully inspire you to go out and grow something! anything at all!

What is helping you to rebalance this weeks bad news in your own small way?
